Limited Use
Last updated August 31, 2026
The use of information received from Google Workspace scopes will adhere to the Google User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
This page is the hosted Limited Use compliance statement for Edison (tryedison.com and app.tryedison.com), operated by Edison Technologies LLC. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
What we request
Google Sign-In at signup is email and profile only. Calendar is a separate, optional connect after a shop is live. That connect requests:
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.freebusy— see whether a proposed time is busyhttps://www.googleapis.com/auth/calendar.events— create, update, or delete the booking event for that callemail— store the connected Google address in Settings
We do not request the full Calendar scope. We do not request Gmail, Drive, Photos, or other Workspace APIs.
How the data is used
Use is limited to a user-facing feature: the receptionist offers real open times and writes the job the caller confirmed onto the shop’s primary calendar. We do not use Google user data for ads, retargeting, credit decisions, or resale.
AI and training
We do not transfer Google Workspace or Photos data to third-party AI services for the purpose of training models. We do not use that data to create, train, or improve a generalized, foundational, or frontier model. Nango stores and refreshes Calendar OAuth tokens for booking only — not for AI, training, or ads.
During a live call the voice model may receive derived tool results only — open slot times and an event id — so it can speak a real time and confirm the book. It does not receive the owner’s full event list, attendee lists, or OAuth tokens.
Third-party AI providers
- xAI API — Grok Voice 2.0 (
grok-voice-think-fast-2.0) for the live call, and xAI API — grok-4.6 for the post-call written summary. Paid API plan. Not consumer Grok.com. xAI’s API terms: they do not train on API inputs or outputs without explicit permission. Voice audio is processed in real time and is not used for training. Default API abuse logs are retained up to 30 days unless a separate zero-data-retention term applies. - Mem0 for shop and caller memory text (the job window the caller confirmed, not a Calendar API export). Not used to train a public Edison model.
Nango is not an AI provider. It stores and refreshes Calendar OAuth tokens so Edison can book. It does not receive live-call audio or the owner’s full event list.
We do not use OpenAI. We do not run self-hosted or offline foundation models. We do not enable consumer “improve the model” or data-sharing toggles for Workspace data. We have not opted xAI into training on our API traffic. We have not enabled xAI Zero Data Retention; Voice conversation history can break if that flag is flipped, so the default 30-day API abuse-log retention stays on.
Protection
Tokens and calendar data are sent only over HTTPS. Nango stores and refreshes the Calendar OAuth tokens. We store a connection id and the connected email on the shop. Tokens are never sent to the browser. The live voice model still receives only derived slot times and an event id. The shop owner can disconnect Calendar in Settings. Email hello@tryedison.com to delete stored tokens and account data.
