Terms

Last updated September 6, 2026

These Terms of Use are a contract between you and Edison Technologies LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company (“Edison,” “we,” “us”), for tryedison.com, app.tryedison.com, and the Edison voice receptionist (the “Service”).

By creating an account, clicking through, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Limited Use statement for Google Workspace data. If you are using Edison for a shop, you represent that you can bind that business.

The Service

Edison is an AI voice receptionist for trades. It answers inbound calls, takes job details, and can collect preferred times, request your approval, or book within your scheduling settings. Calendar connections are optional and available after you go live. It is software, not a human receptionist and not a licensed dispatcher.

The AI can be wrong. It can mishear a name, invent a detail, or miss a booking. You decide which jobs to take. You are responsible for following up with callers.

Not an emergency service

Edison is not 911, not emergency dispatch, and not a substitute for calling the fire department, police, gas company, or poison control. If a caller has an emergency, they should hang up and dial the local emergency number. Do not rely on Edison to reach you in a life-safety situation.

Accounts

You need an account to use the product. Keep your email and sign-in method under your control. You are responsible for activity on the account. Tell us if you think someone else is in it.

Google sign-in is email and profile only. Calendar access is a separate, optional step after you go live.

Your shop, your phone line

You are responsible for:

  • The number you publish and how you advertise it
  • How you forward your existing line, if you do
  • The jobs you accept, decline, price, and schedule
  • What the receptionist is allowed to say on your behalf
  • Any notice or consent your callers must receive under the law where you or they are

Pause stops new callers from joining the receptionist. Pause does not cancel billing and does not take your published number off the internet.

Recording, AI, and caller consent

Calls are processed live by our AI model partners. We store transcripts and summaries. Overflow voicemail may be recorded. Edison does not play a recording disclosure or an “this call is handled by AI” line today.

Some states require two-party consent before a call is recorded or monitored. Some rules also require you to tell people they are speaking with AI. That notice is your job. You agree to comply with recording, wiretap, privacy, and AI-disclosure laws that apply to your shop. If you need a spoken disclosure, say so in your owner instructions or add it on your published greeting until we ship a product toggle.

You are the business collecting caller information. Edison processes it for you to provide the Service. See the Privacy Policy.

Trial, credits, and billing

Trial is 7 days and 50 credits, with Pro behavior, and $0 due today. After trial, new subscriptions are Starter at $29 per month with 50 credits, or Pro at $79 per month with 250 credits. Shop at $199 per month with 1,000 credits is an in-app upgrade. Credits bill as the higher of a job-type floor or connected minutes, rounded up. Test calls to your saved cell do not burn credits.

Payment runs through Stripe. Taxes may apply. Included plan credits reset each paid month and do not roll over. Prepaid packs are $25 for 25 credits, $50 for 100 credits, or $100 for 400 credits, and expire 12 months after purchase or when you cancel. Trial credits expire after seven days and never trigger purchases. If you authorize autobill, we charge your chosen pack when remaining credits fall below 20% of the monthly allowance, at most two packs per cycle. You can buy more packs yourself. A payment already processing may complete after you disable autobill. Your saved primary card and up to two authorized backup cards are tried in order after a confirmed decline.

A failed prepaid purchase is not a debt. If an established paid account uses unfunded service or has an unpaid subscription invoice, Edison keeps answering and collecting leads. Lead details stay hidden until you settle or update your card. Lead notifications continue without private details. AI service continues for up to 48 hours from the first arrears or $50 total overdue, whichever comes first, then switches to message-taking. Emergencies still ring the owner. Partial payments do not restart this period. Pack purchases settle unpaid usage first; unpaid subscription invoices are paid separately in Stripe. Trials and failed first payments do not receive a usage tab.

Pause does not cancel billing. To stop charges, cancel in the Stripe portal. Cancellation stops future renewals. It does not refund time already used unless the law requires it or we agree in writing.

Acceptable use

Do not use Edison to:

  • Break the law or help someone else break it
  • Harass, defraud, or impersonate another business
  • Collect caller data you have no right to collect
  • Resell Edison as a wholesale phone or AI platform
  • Probe, overload, or bypass the Service
  • Send unsolicited marketing texts or use booking messages for harassment

We can suspend or terminate an account for abuse, nonpayment, or legal risk.

Booking text messages

If you enable approval texts and verify your mobile number, Edison sends verification codes and job review links from its shared messaging number. Customers who agree to booking texts may receive proposed times, confirmation links, booking confirmations, and cancellation updates for their request. These messages are for scheduling, not marketing.

Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. You can also turn off owner approval texts in booking settings. Opting out does not cancel an existing appointment; contact the shop to change or cancel a visit. For help, email hello@tryedison.com.

Your data and our license

You keep whatever rights you already have in your shop information, recordings, transcripts, and calendar events. You grant Edison a worldwide license to host, process, transcribe, summarize, and display that material as needed to run the Service, send you alerts, and improve the receptionist for your shop.

You represent that you have the right to give us your listing, your website content, and any calendar you connect, and that using Edison on your line does not violate a carrier, listing, or landlord rule you are under.

Third-party services

The Service depends on other companies: Stripe, Twilio, Google, Microsoft (if you connect Outlook), hosting and authentication providers, email delivery, website enrichment, memory providers, and AI model partners. Their outages and policies are outside our control. If they fail, Edison may fail. Their terms apply to their piece.

Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise uninterrupted phone coverage, perfect transcripts, correct bookings, or that every missed call will become a job. We disclaim all implied warranties to the fullest extent the law allows, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Edison and its officers, members, and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost jobs, lost profits, lost data, or replacement phone coverage.

Our total liability for any claim arising out of the Service is capped at the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100 if you have paid nothing. Some states do not allow these limits. In those states, our liability is limited to the maximum the law allows.

Indemnity

You will defend and indemnify Edison against claims that arise from your use of the Service, your shop’s jobs, your published number, your owner instructions, or your failure to get any notice or consent the law requires from callers — including recording, wiretap, and AI-disclosure claims.

Termination

You can stop using Edison and cancel billing in Stripe at any time. We can suspend or close an account if you breach these Terms, if invoices fail, or if we have to for legal or security reasons. After termination we may keep records as described in the Privacy Policy.

Changes

We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change. For a material change we will post the new Terms on this page. If you keep using the Service after that date, you accept the new Terms. If you do not agree, cancel and stop using Edison.

Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You and Edison agree that the state and federal courts located in Wyoming have exclusive venue, and you consent to those courts.

If a court strikes one section, the rest still apply. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement for the Service. They replace prior versions. We may assign this contract in a sale of the company. You may not assign it without our written consent.
